“Try me”, he smirked, joking, “Besides, hate is a strong word”. Alright, so she had the oppersite effect on Drew. He was actually enjoying listening to her talk. She seemed so full of energy how she could just babble on like that. It was nice to meet someone who seemed so upbeat. However, at her point about Andrew he felt completely idiotic. He hadn’t thought of that one. “Andrew right…damn, never thought of that”, he admitted. “As for the jerk part, depends. Some people think I’m a jerk simply based on my family. But I try to be different”. As she continued on the discussion about the girlfriend, he had an urge to try and start another conversation. This topic was never a good one to discuss.
“Why does there have to be a girl?”, he pointed out, “I mean…single people don’t get shot or anything. Nothing wrong with being single for a bit”. He paused, before admitting, just so that maybe she would drop it, “It’s complicated, any relationship I have has a tendency to not end well”. However, lightening the conversation, he moved on to saying, “Great, then, well…I don’t know if you want me to meet you or something? Or well, you could come with me to load this in the car then we could walk round to somewhere. There are quite a lot of pubs round here”.

"Well I don't think you are a jerk. Maybe a big geeky nerd," she giggled pointing at his purchase, "but definitely not a jerk." Putting the curtains back, she could always pick out them some other time because she was having way too much fun talking to this guy. Wait until Megan heard all about him. She wouldn't believe a word of it but when did Megan ever believe anything Allie said? Or really listen to what she had to say? "Oh Drew... there's always a girl with like guys like you. Some really cute girl that is like... apple pie and everything that america stands for. You think movie scripts are totally like based completely on fiction?" But she'd let it drop for now. She couldn't expect Drew to reveal everything right away.
Somewhere deep inside she knew that this was the beginning of a friendship. Call it a sixth sense but she felt like they had more in common. She usually didn't immediately like people like this but oh well. Why question it? "How about we relieve you of your purchases and then you can totally pick someplace and tell me everything about the mystery that is Drew...What was your last name again?"

He glanced at the chemistry set, “Well…”, he paused. Oh to Hell with it. “I’m good at Science…besides, explosions are good to watch”. She continued about the fact that there was “always a girl” and he shook his head once more dispelling the fact, “Nope, seriously, no…girl or apple pie life. Just a house, a car, and…kittens”. Well, more of a mansion then a house but all the same. The kittens were recent. He had adopted them from the RSPCA. The house was too empty, and so big. It needed more to it. And, because nobody else was living there, Drew figured getting an animal would be best. And having 3 kittens around certainly made the house less empty. Of course, Angel the younger of the kittens (named by the RSPCA) wasn’t exactly an angel…and Drew tended to come back to things being chewed.
Drew felt that they could be friends already, too. It was so easy talking to her, and for some reason he felt comfortable. He felt like they seemed to at least connect well. “Mystery that is Drew? I’m hardly a mystery”, he laughed, “Drew Black”. He hoped she hadn’t heard of any of his family. The Black’s were quite well known to some as rich scum. The reputation having been set by David mainly.

"Kittens?! You have kittens?! How many? What kind? How old? What do they look like?" Allison was a sucker for kittens... well baby animals in general but things like puppies and kittens just made her little heart melt. They were just so fuzzy and sweet with their big eyes. "Oh! And names! You have to tell me their names, because like... you can figure out so much about an animal by the name someone gives it. Like we had this dog once... he was an old stage dog... not like Lassie famous but like... anyway... and his name was Lightening cause he was really fast." Tangents worked for Allie amazingly well.
"I think you are plenty of a mystery, cause all I know is that your name is Drew... you have kittens... you claim there isn't a girl and you like explosions. That's not much to go off of," she teased before sticking out her tongue. Allison really didn't know about the family Black. Mainly because she had grown up Hollywood rich which was its own culture in and of itself. More so when Paris Hilton ruined your 5th birthday cake.

He tried to keep up with her questions, sorting them in his mind, before giving a wolfish sort of chuckle, “Yeah, kittens, three of ‘em. Not sure on what breed they are, they’re all different breeds…they’re from the RSPCA. I adopted them, apparently the owner had abandoned them at a bus shelter”, he gave a bitter look at this point, what sort of people could abandon animals? Especially puppies and kittens…Drew didn’t know how people could be so cruel. “As for age, well it varies. Bailey is the eldest I guess, not quite a year old still though. And names…well, there’s Bailey who is the only male of the three. Then there’s Angel and Jade. All the names were given by the RSPCA, but they’re sort of fitting. Except for Angel, she is far from an Angel”. He laughed. Yeah, that kitten did like to chew things.
She had a point about mystery. He gave a mixed up message alright – explosions and kittens were not usually talked about in the same conversation. This just made him laugh, a more barking like laugh this time. Heading towards the stairs which would lead to the exit, seems as she had agreed to a drink. He could find his car which was in the car park, and just put the set down which he now held again. As she stuck out her tongue, he pulled a face, “You realized how childish that is? It solely tempts me to ask you back to mine and push you in the swimming pool or something”. Yeah, Drew liked practical jokes.

"OH... MY... GOD!" she practically squeed. "They sound so adorable. I would get a kitten too but I think my roommate, Megan would kill me. I think she's had enough of pets for awhile. Her last roommate... Leila?...Kaylee? No.. Kayla! That's it. Yeah she had this dog and apparently it ate a bunch of shoes and decided some of the pillows were totally his toys so now she's like, forbidden animals except for Goldfish. But really, who like wants a goldfish? You can't even hold them." After giving him a "duh" look, Allie went into a fit of giggles and smiled at him. "I guess that means I'll have to get a fix from you."
Following him to his car, her designer purse clutched to her side, Allie studied him a bit. He definitely wasn't a "pretty" boy, which was a good thing. That's why she had moved out of Daddy's place. Surrounded by want to be actors and models who were shallow and had the IQ of a rock was getting to her. Plus, they were just too... manufactured looking if that was the right term. Then he threatened to invite her back to his place and push her into the pool. "Well you can invite me back, but now that you've said you're going to push me into a pool, like I'll totally avoid those. I'm not a complete idiot."
